First, it was really amazing to finally meet the whole team face-to-face after having spent 3 months in conference calls all together: we didn't even need to break the ice and start hugging immediately! We had a good diner all together, getting to know each other a little better, while practising our mandarin on the waiter ... ;-)
This morning, after a breakfast with Jordan (while the rest of the team was still catching up on jet lag) I went to the Antique and Old books Market in the West of Chengdu. What a relax and pleasant atmosphere! People playing cards and drinking tea in one of the famous tea houses along the water ...

This afternoon we had our first meeting with the DOT team (Digital Opportunity Trust), the Canadian Non-Profit Organization which is organizing the CSC program for us in Chengdu: they are doing an amazing job! They also arranged a group of 6 extremely enthusiastic students that will be with us the whole month as interpreters in our host organizations.
